Belated March '22 Devlog!

Sorry for not actually posting this in March! A lot of things, uh, happened during March. But Heart Sigil Elchemia's development is still firmly on track, and here's what has been done during the last month:

  • Soma's route is half complete, with 3.5 chapters written out of 7.
  • More feedback from the survey! Thank you to everyone who's taken it; I've gotten plenty of very useful tips about bugs and things to fix in a next iteration. (If you've finished the game and haven't yet taken the survey, please feel free to! I might not add ALL of the suggestions to the game, but I'm absolutely reading them)
  • I helped another team program/write a NaNoReNo game! It was a fun experience and I will never do it again (for at least a year).

Next steps:

  • Currently planning the release of Heart Sigil Elchemia's extended demo for Otome Jam 2022. This demo will cover approximately the entire common route (about 3-4 hours long, but might be shortened if I can figure out what to edit out).
    • NOTE: The common route is structured so that you can unlock multiple LIs in a single run-through and then choose which one you want to pursue, hence the length shouldn't be too bad in practice.
  • I'd love to finish writing Soma's route before I start Otome Jam in May, but accounting for work levels and possible burnout, I think it would probably be safer to take it easy for April in order to focus on the game properly in May. Will update at end of April.

Anyway, as always, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts about the current demo, as well as what you'd be excited to see in the new demo. See you all next month!
